LMK OC Competition
FAQs
General Questions:
What is the LMK OC Competition?
The LMK OC Competition is a bracket style tournament where you can either sign-up to enter your LMK-based OC to compete against others’ OCs and/or vote for your favorite OCs!! This is an event made for the purpose of having fun as well as learning more about others’ OCs, celebrating creativity within the fandom!!Unlike the last one, this competition will have a theme. This competition’s theme is Halloween! Or, alternatively, Autumn. What do you mean by “theme”?
This competition we are starting something new by implementing a theme. With this year’s theme being Halloween, I’m sure you’ve noticed our spooky new layout! Most of the QoTDs and art prompts that I will post will most likely be related to the theme. Also, I highly encourage that any propaganda made is related to our Halloween theme, or at least something spooky or autumn related! Just be sure that you follow the rules of your content being PG-13Do I have to follow the theme?
Nope! The theme is purely just for fun!! If you find that you can't do anything for the theme, or have an idea you want to do that doesn't fit in the theme, don't worry about it!! Feel free to do whatever you like as long as it fits within the rules. Following the theme is completely optional!!Can I still compete if I competed in the last competition?
Of course!! You’re welcome to compete again in this competition!! Just one thing to keep in mind, you will have to enter a different OC from last time, you cannot enter the same OC.What are the rules?
Rules can be found here!!When will the competition start?
If we manage to get all 64 sign-ups in on time, round 1 will begin on September 4th. Otherwise, we will start the competition with only 32 competitors on September 15th. This competition already has the exact dates for each round picked out so that way, we end on Halloween, this comp’s theme!!You can help get submissions in by reblogging and sharing this competition with others!! If you know anyone with a LMK OC, maybe ask them if they’d be interested in joining the competition!Where/How do I sign up?
Sign-Ups will be found pinned on the blog's Tumblr page starting on August 9. The google form provided is the only way you can sign up for the competition.People will be accepted via first-come first-served basis as long as they nor their OC violates the rules. What is propaganda?
Propaganda is a fun way to encourage people to vote for the OC(s) you want to see win!!! Whether it be by creating art, writing a fic, infodumping about them, telling others why they should vote for that character; really anything goes as long as it's within the rules!! You can make propaganda for any character you'd like, even if it's not yours, even if you're not competing, propaganda is a way to help the character you want to win!You can either put propaganda in the reblogs of a specific poll or you can make a separate post for it. Whichever you choose, be sure to @ this blog for any propaganda you may create so I can reblog it here!!Also if you want, you can self reblog anything you've previously made before this for your OC and tag this blog. That counts as propaganda as well!!What if I want to change my OC’s photo or update the description?
If you need something changed you can either DM me or you can change it yourself on the google forms. They are currently set so you can go back and edit your responses. HOWEVER, after all 64 submissions are in, I will be turning off form response editing. After that, you can still update the photo/description, however the only way to do so will be by DMing me.ALSO, unlike last time I will not be changing photos nor descriptions during the competition. You will have until September 1st to make any changes, so be sure you’re happy with the image and description you choose, it’ll be the same throughout the entirety of the competition!! This is simply due to the larger amount of competitors this time around so this will make things easier for me.Can we ask our own QotD?
Yes!! In fact, I encourage it!! Anyone can ask any question(s) they want so long as they are within the rules. These questions can be directed to either the creators or the characters themselves. Can we send our own art prompts?
Yep!! Same terms as QotD apply. What happens if there's a tie?
If a tie occurs, there's two things that can happen. Either I'll set up a tie-breaker poll that only lasts one day or the two that tied can move on together as a team. If you tied and would like to continue as a team, I need both people who tied to confirm with me that they both agree to joining as a team. If only one person, or no one, confirms that they would like to team up, then I will post the tie-breaker poll. Will you ever do another competition?
Yep!! Nothing concrete when the next one will occur but I’d be happy to host this again!
I lost, can I still...
...post propaganda?
If you have lost a previous round and tag me in a propaganda piece of your OC, I simply will not reblog it. Of course you're free to post your OC whenever you like, I don't control that, it just doesn't qualify as propaganda if you are no longer in the competition. However, if you lost a previous round and tag me in a propaganda piece you made for someone else's OC that is still within the competition, then yes I will still reblog and count that as propaganda!... answer the QotD?
Yes! Feel free!! Even if you lost a past round, I will still reblog your answers too as long as you're answering for the OC you initially submitted. While I am still reblogging these, they will still not count as propaganda if you lost a previous round, and will be reblogged without the #propaganda tag.... do the art prompts?
Yep!! Same terms apply as the QotD. I’ll still reblog, but will not count it as propaganda unless a character included in the art piece is one still in the competition
I'm not competing, can I...
...post propaganda?
As long as the character(s) featured in the propaganda piece are part of the competition, yes you may post propaganda and I will reblog it. Go on, if your favorite creator’s OC is in the competition (or if you just really like one of the OCs), make them some propaganda to show them your love!!... answer the QotD?
Yes!! Go ahead!!! I just won't reblog it here at all.... do the art prompts?
Absolutely!! Same terms as QotD apply.
Rules
